Liv Smith is a voice actor, creature voice actor, vocal stunt performer, and casting director from Northern Ireland. Since making her voice debut in 2021 as Cleo’s Dad in Cleo: A Pirate’s Tale, she has had an eclectic mix of roles, including Ulfar in Warhammer: Rogue Trader, Knife & Toilet in Inanimate Insanity, Orcane in Rivals of Aether II, and Atmosphere in Atlas & the Stars.
Although she began voice acting in 2021, Liv has a long history with the stage and theatre. Starting out in school productions, Liv found a love for acting that carried on to local theatre group productions, before eventually swapping the boards of the stage for the backstage and technical side of production. At 16, she took this interest up professionally, and has since been working for one of Northern Ireland’s top event production companies as a lighting, audio, and rigging technician, and has worked on production for events such as BBC Proms and the Riverdance world tour.
When lockdown hit in 2020 and time was in abundance, Liv regained her interest in performing and took up voice acting. With the necessary skills from her day job, she built a broadcast-quality home studio, started sending auditions, and hasn’t looked back since. An advocate for remote acting and home studios, she has also spent time making tutorials and guides for other voice actors on how to treat your space and get the best out of your equipment.
As she has expanded her skills since 2021, Liv has branched into other areas of voice acting and production. Having honed her vocal abilities and discovered the weird and wonderful noises she can make, Liv is also a creature voice actor and vocal stunt performer. She has also added the feather of casting director and voice director to her cap, working with local studios on the animation The Wards of Oribis, and the award-winning game The Seance of Blake Manner.
When she’s not voice acting, Liv is also a streamer on Twitch, where she enjoys sharing her knowledge of voice acting and studio setups, in between being jumpscared for the amusement of her audience.
